About the role:

Reporting to the Chief Operation Officer (COO), the Manager, Bunkering & Fleet leads and optimize all aspects of bunker fuel operations and fleet efficiency management. This role is responsible for ensuring fuel quantity planning, supply monitoring, and operational efficiency to achieve fleet fuel consumption targets.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and optimize bunker quantity planning and fuel supply, ensuring adherence to line targets for cost optimization.
  • Develop and implement fuel supply strategies, working closely with procurement to secure competitive rates and reliable supply sources.
  • Define and monitor FOC targets across the fleet, analyzing variances and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Work closely with fleet efficiency teams to ensure actual consumption meets targets, adapting strategies based on performance data.
  • Conduct random Bunker Quality Survey (BQS) checks to validate fuel quality and ensure supplier compliance with standards.
  • Analyze survey results and address any discrepancies or quality issues with suppliers.
  • Oversee Fleet Efficiency functions, including passage planning, distance & speed monitoring, weather assessments, AE usage, and RF needs, using the center as a tool to drive route and fuel optimization.

 

What they are looking for

  • Educated to a minimum of Degree on Marine Engineering, Maritime Studies.
  • Professional certification within the Maritime industry is an added advantage.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Bunker Fuel Management, fleet efficiency, Bunker Suppliers, Bunker Quantity & Quality Surveyor, Chief Engineer, 2nd Engineer or related operational roles within the maritime or shipping industry.
  • 2 to 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Skilled in Bunker Supply & Consumption Management, Fuel Efficiency Optimization, Fleet Performance Monitoring, Vessel Efficiency and Routing Strategies.
